Bob sent us some pictures of his '59 Chevy Apache. Here's what he had to say:

"The wood, rails and hardware are all Mar-K. Installation was a breeze. Everything fit well... The real work was getting all the frozen bolts out of the original bed.

"The rails were powder coated black. The oak wood was blackened using white vinegar that had steel wool soaked in it overnight. The vinegar solution reacted with the wood's tannins, causing it to turn grey-black. A mahogany stain was then applied, achieving the mocha color that allows the grain to show."
